Blackberry Bold 9700, a good phone for people who like to IM a lot. Facebook, Mxit, Msn messenger, Yahoo and many more features related to it.
This device does have 3g HSDPA network as well as the Nokia N8. The Bold was announced on October last year and was released a month after. But the Nokia N8 was announced on April this year. The expectancy of the handset is October this year. Customers are very tired to wait this long for the Nokia N8, but it is worth it as Nokia also needs to make sure the device runs smoothly without any defects.
The dimensions of the Blackberry is 109 x 60 x 14 mm and its competitors is 113.5 x 59.1 x 12.9 mm, 86 cc. The weight difference is only 15 grams.
As you can see, the pixels vary a lot. The N8 having 360 x 640 pixels, 3.5 inches and the 9700 having 480 x 360 pixels, 2.44 inches. But atleast the features make it up for the small screen.
The N8 has Multi-touch input method, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and Scratch resistant Gorilla glass display so now your worry about the screen has disappeared. The advantage of the Blackberry is that it has a Full QWERTY keyboard and a Touch-sensitive optical track pad. Most of the phones do have a 3.5 mm jack so if you had a previous phone with it then no worries, the Blackberry and the Nokia N8 also do support the 3.5 mm jack.
The internal memory of the Blackberry is 256MB storage and 256 MB RAM but the phone does come with a 2GB MicroSD card .
The rival does come with 16 GB storage, 256MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. It can also take a 32GB MicroSD card.
The Blackberry comes with 3.15 MP, 2048×1536 pixels, autofocus and LED flash while its enemy bets it by far with 12 MP, 4000×3000 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and a Xenon flash. It is worth the time for this marvelous device, it will amaze you a lot just as it did to me.
The Blackberry does run on the BlackBerry OS; 5.0 while the Nokia N8 runs on the brand new excellent Symbian ^3 OS. The Symbian ^3 OS is very praise worthy due to its features but unfortunately I have no knowledge on the Blackberry; OS 5.0.
TV-out (720p video) via HDMI and composite, Dolby Digital Plus via HDMI, Anodized aluminum casing, Digital compass, lots of multimedia features and Voice command/dial with many more are availible on the N8. The rival has BlackBerry maps, Document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF) and many more multimedia features.
The battery time of the Nokia is 390 h (2G) / Up to 400 h (3G) while the Blackberry can go up to 408 hours.
In conclusion, rather buy the N8 because it has much more useful gadgets for you. The only thing the Blackberry was made for are the IM tools.
