Today’s big story is that Nokia may have started talks with Microsoft to create a new line of Windows Phone devices. This rumor comes from mobile insider Eldar Murtazin, who also added that this was a desperation move by the two companies to compete with Android. Whether this rumor is true or not, an interesting question is, “Would you buy a Nokia Windows Phone?”
What makes this rumor hard to believe is that Nokia officially announced in October they were focusing on Qt as the sole application development framework to ensure that apps developed on this platform will continue to be compatible with Symbian and upcoming Meego products. Windows Phone 7 is a completely different platform. Did Nokia’s new management suddenly have a change of heart?
Imagine the possibility: Microsoft’s OS on Nokia’s hardware. Are you interested?
